Working Hard? or Hardly Working?

March 25th, 2008 by grace

Its hard to know who is working harder  during this session of Leadership Plenty; the instructors or the students.  With a smaller groupof people involved, the dynamics are much different…and all are working their brains hard.  We are entering the 4th session; which we have a meal plan for. Hopefully the food will revitalize our tired brains.  See we are working hard!sth70098.jpg

As the “RoletteElf” one of the brainstorming sessions in the latest Leadership Plenty class mentioned strengthening families. My idea, not a big one, is proposing to have a slide painted that would allow family or a husband or wife to honor the other with “HAPPY ANNIVERSARY” to m/m …. This would honor and congratulate an individual couple on their marriage.
And more importantly, indicate that we as a community place value, honor and respect on married couples. I believe that many of the social ills of society from youth crime, poverty, and violence result from the breakdown of the family. What we can do to strengthen families can benefit individuals and society as a whole. If one couple for 48 hours was celebrated each week, that would be 52 messages a year that marriage is honored and valued. We all know there are lots of messages given to kids (and adults) that are destructive. Not a silver bullet, but one small piece of the puzzel. Its how its done right ? RoletteElf
