Hunting Survey- Questions and Comments?

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

A group of avid local hunters and I will get together in February to try to improve the hunting experience for state as well as out of state hunters. We will try to compile a set of questions to learn about their likes and dislikes. We welcome comments and hope that many hunters will take time to answer our questions. It could be that a cleaning booth for deer and upland game maybe a wanted improvement. We do appreciate our hunters and will try to address any need that we may have overlooked.

Gathering Place

Monday, January 28th, 2008

A Gathering Place is being planed for Rolette.  This place will be a “coffee house” style meeting place for all ages.  One goal is to expand a current business of Rolette.  A gather place is one of the Action Items from the Action Forum which is a result of the Horizon’s Study Circles.  The Horizon Directors believe the the skills learned in the Leadership Plenty training can be used to make this action item a reality.

How did we ever get involved in Horizons?

jo-working.JPGWith the new start of leadership plenty in the begining stages, this question has cropped up often lately.   I am not sure of how the actually official grant got started but I do know that you can blame or give kudos to Joellen Gilje.  Here is her picture and feel free to let her know how you think this process is going.  Along with that I really cant let her hold all of the blame… she has a board of director for Horizons… are you can ask her who they are.  Ha! Ha!  Can you feel me passing the buck?  I am one of the directors and please feel free to express your opinion to me as well.   We can only change things if we know the are broken or not liked.   Take some time and visit with us.

Living in Rolette.

Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008
Living in a town the size of ours is really an eye opener to what living is. What feeds the mind is usually the result of the way we live or what we become. Living in a big city for 5 yrs has given me a very clear vision where I would not want to raise my children. It’s one thing to hear, see and read about violence, but living in it was very sad.  There  I found it hard to get to know your neighbors or your workmates.  Where I came from, in N.Dak it was and still is easy to say ”Hi, good morning, can I help you with that? ”   Well getting back to breathing in good fresh air, (there… smog) seeing the beautiful sunset or sunrise, (you didn’t see that there very often or not at all).  Living here in good old Rolette N. Dak. has so many good views and ways to teach and show how God wants us to live and love each other.   COME visit us and find out for yourself! You owe it to yourself and your  loved ones.   Keep smiling and GOD Bless.
